About Maija

Maija Beeton is a collaborative producer, artist, and creative techie. She has been intimately involved in the evolution of computer graphics and produced animation and visual effects for video games, television, films and emerging technologies. Her independent projects combine old and new media and have shown at film festivals and on the internet. She is the co-director of the Los Angeles Abstract Film Workshop and a founding member of the Hybrid Reality Studio.

Currently based in Culver City, California aka “The Home of Screenland”

Fine Arts Graduate of the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, a highly-ranked art, architecture and engineering school in New York City.

Former Filmmaker-In-Residence and Director of Advanced Technology Programs at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, California.

Former Manager of Training for Nichimen Graphics, the Tokyo-based Nichimen Corporation’s 3-D software division.

Former Co-Chair of the 3-D Design Conference, Santa Clarita, California

Producer of computer animation and digital visual effects for games, television, film and special venues for more than two decades.

Winner of 2008 Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in graphic design for the show SPORT SCIENCE.

Unique traits: Beeton produces animation and visual effects for games, television, film and emerging technologies. She is the recipient of a 2008 Emmy Award for outstanding graphic design.
