Just a small town boy | Dave Mills

This video is a very rough synopsis for my project. Once funding is complete, the full length feature will be shot with much higher quality. Travis Mitchell is a local high school basketball star in a small rural town. His life couldn't be better. Captain of the varsity basketball team, small town hero, dating the head cheerleader, in line for a scholarship to a major university. But Travis has a secret, and secrets are hard to keep in a small town. Travis is gay. When his secret is revealed his life begins a downward spiral. His friends and team mates abandon him, his father loses respect for him, and he is forced off his team, ruining his chance for a scholarship. Travis does not give up, and learns that "It does get better.: Travis finds a college with a more accepting atmosphere, where he meets an unlikely ally. Eventually he finds love, and most importantly acceptance from his team and his parents. The hope is to produce this film in Miami Florida in the summer of 2013, with a budget of around $12 to $15K.
