SYNOPSIS:

Aging Hollywood leading lady, Rebecca Wynters has coped with her slumping career by relying on drugs, alcohol and the company of young men. She is given an opportunity to revive her career on Broadway, with an offer to star in the Greek tragedy ‘Medea’. Despite reservations about playing the vilified scorned woman, she accepts. There is one added twist, however. To boost the box office appeal, the producers want to cast Rebecca’s younger ex-husband, Jack, now a big Hollywood star, to play opposite her. Their steamy and stormy on-and-off again relationship was tabloid fodder for years. Rebecca reluctantly agrees at the pleading of their daughter. Rebecca kicks the booze and drugs, for she has new intoxications - live theater and the possibility of rekindling with Jack. She becomes obsessive in her preparation for the show and begins to lose herself in her role. The show is a smash success. The celebration of opening night leads to an intoxicated Jack seducing his ex-wife. Jack quickly realizes the gravity of his error, as Rebecca and their daughter assume a reconciliation. Jack confronts Rebecca, revealing his engagement to another woman. As Rebecca’s jealousy and rage grow, the line between theatricality and reality is crossed. She has brought Medea into her life and vows revenge. Paralleling the acts of her stage counterpart, Rebecca begins to sabotage Jack’s life. He leaves the show, but continues to fall victim to Rebecca’s/Medea’s chilling acts of retribution. Jack anticipates Rebecca’s final goal and must rush to her final performance before she can carry out the horrifying climax that has forever linked Medea’s name with the ultimate act of revenge. A few climactic twists will keep the audience guessing until the last possible moment.

Sounds very intriguing, Jason...

A contemporary spin on "Medea." Frightening but fun.
