I need your answers

Being an aspiring author, i had to endure a countless number of rejections. Of them all, two of the rejections are the ones that gave the impetus to engage in multiple submissions without (necessarily) having to read the guidelines: "Dear Chimezie, Thank you for sending me The Blueprint and for giving me the opportunity to consider your work. While there was a lot I enjoyed about your submission, ultimately, I did not feel convinced I could find a publisher for it and therefore I don't feel able to offer you representation for this project. I am sorry not to be writing with better news. Thank you for sharing your work with me and I wish you every success with your writing. Best wishes, Jonathan Lloyd" A literary agent based in the UK Dear Author, Thank you for your submission, which I have reviewed thoroughly. I did find it very interesting but unfortunately do not feel your work is a good match for us and as such have decided not to take it any further. We hope you understand that we have a only a small list we can commit to fully each year and are unable to take as many books forward as we would like to. We thank you for considering SkyAzure Publishing and wish you every success in placing your work. Regards Jack Jack Kraster Acquistions Editor SkyAzure Publishing" This really made me submit my entire manuscripts (fiction and non-fiction) to all literary professionals i could lay my hands on. Then, a certain UK publisher contacted me, indicating that they would like me to submit my fiction works which i eventually did. I didn't "see" the submissions guidelines written as; "... Your covering letter should include your name, contact details (postal address, telephone number etc.), the proposed title of your work and if possible, some information regarding past writing experience. Synopsis and sample chapters When sending your synopsis (a detailed summary of your book), please bear in mind that this should be a short description of the plot, approximately 400-500 words in length. You will also need to include examples of your work, extracted from the manuscript. We prefer for these examples to be composed of three consecutive chapters. For non-chaptered work or poetry, please send approximately one third of your manuscript or collection as a sample... By the way, my fiction works were 12 in number. After the assessment, they picked seven. I was to send the full manuscripts (I'd already sent the full manuscripts. But sending them again-the second time-gave me some concern. But that didn't bother me!). After ensuring all went well with the manuscripts being sent, they replied me: "Dear Mr. Ihekuna Chimezie Benedict, Thank you for sending the final manuscripts in your collection. These will now be passed to the board of editors for their consideration. We will be in touch with you once a decision has been reached by our Chief Editor... Thank you for your patience – we will contact you in due course" Fellow members, i'd like to know the following: 1) Whether the seven of them have been chosen for publication or not 2) Why assessment, then consideration? 3) Have they been accepted for publication? In general, what do they really mean ? Your replies, please!

Strange... not sure what they are thinking/considering. Perhaps they are not yet sure either...? At any rate, it does sound promising! So all the best to you with publications! Lisa

Thanks, Lisa. I later sent them the inquiry: "First, i'm happy that my selected works, "Saved By His Grace (A Play)", "Saved By His Grace", "One Man's Deep Words", "Stories of Life Significance...", "Winds of Change", "God's Love Towards His people" and "The Blueprint". I'm grateful for this opportunity! As i checked the conversations between you and me, i wanted to know two things: 1) If the selected works have been accepted 2) If they would be 'picking' of the selected works." They replied: "Dear Ihekuna Chimezie Benedict, Thank you for your email. It can take between four and five weeks for the board of editors to come to a decision about author’s manuscripts. We will be in touch in due course with any decisions made – we thank you for your continued patience." Just would like to know what's going on, Lisa.... In the meantime, i "self-published" three books-Winds of Change, Life's Twists and Life In Space. Please, check out the following works and let me know what you think (please buy any or all of them!) 1) Winds of Change (http://ebg247.com/book...hange) 2) Life In Space (http://ebg247.com/book...space) 3) Life's Twists (http://ebg247.com/book...wists). Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi again, Mr. Ben, I didn't see this, until after I responded to your connect request. I'm on the site, and have checked out your books. They all look like top notch productions. Now, I'm considering putting my books there as well, and wondering how it's paying off for you...? I have self-published on Amazon Kindle, but have not had as many sales as desired yet... Thank you, again. Good to connect with you! Lisa
