Here's whats on my mind, to all the girls out there, who do DP work or 1st AD work, or anything in that realm of our industry, please be in touch with me. Introduce yourself to me please. Let me know you are out there in this great abyss that we all work in. Sometimes it's hard to know who does what. I am slowly pulling the right team together for a film coming in the near future. THIS IS NOT A JOB POSTING. I just want to know at this early stage who I may be able to use. sincerely, Alexis LeFortune.
Girl power! Did you read the article in the blog this weekend with Hilary Swank's comments? Gets us women fired up to continue to make our mark in the industry. A couple of weeks back on the weekend blog we also featured an article about the top five women filmmakers on the independent side and Hollywood. Not sure if you saw that or not, but I wanted to point it out to you. Either way, there is such a tremendous amount of talent here and I applaud you for your support of females in power positions.
So great to have you in this community! Keep your eyes open in December- we have a webinar from a female line producer! I'm sure you'll find some great ladies to collaborate with here :)
Oh, you are awesome ! Thank you for saying that. Yes, I love the guys I have worked with over the years that have trained me well to where I can now hold my own solidly and securely and I truly thank them for helping me and I still keep in touch with some of them who are so happy to see me off and running. But honestly, I am just tired of being surrounded by men. : ) Yes I did read AND SAVED those 'top five women film makers' article, just so that I have it, for the purpose I mentioned, which you had read. However I will check out Hilary Swank's comments. Thanks for alerting me about it ! I worked with her and Clint Eastwood on Million Dollar Baby and they are both some of my favorites. BTY - you can check out my sizzle reel of the military film I am working on now. It's my own film. You can see the reel on my page. Just go to the 'video' column, click on it, its all thats there, nothing else. It's called IN THE NAME OF HONOR - a movie for our troops of past, present and future. It will shoot is Charleston, S.C. sincerely, ALexis LeFortune. Happy Film Making. I will die doing this ! Hah!
Oh Shannon, Thank you so much, I certainly will ! sincerely, Alexis LeFortune : )
