What is the difference between script and screenplay?
Hello guys, i am new in here and trying forward to make my story into the film. But what its bother me while i am doing a research, what is the difference between script and screenplay? Thank you
If you hear someone talk about a Shooting Script though that I different from a Screenplay. A Shooting Script is the Screenplay set up for Production and that includes shots and transitions and scene numbers and camera talk amongst other things. The Screenplay always comes first and to my knowledge Screenwriter's don't work on the shooting script.
Gee, talk about making things complicated. Go back and read the first response from Danny. They're both the same. Call it a script, call it a screenplay, it really doesn't matter. The rest of that stuff, you just don't need to know right now.
Question: My script is ready to be pitched but I am not repped by agent or manager. Does it makes sense to pitch producers now, or does it make sense to pitch an agent or rep first? Your opinion, please? Thanks. JF

Yeah just stop at Danny's response.

JF, you might be better off starting your own thread to ask that question as it's not related to the OP.
Thx Pierre! Just learning the S32 etiquette, you are correct. JF
Sam, in the context of whom you are talking to, if it's someone in the movie biz, script & screenplay are interchangeable. JF
