Introduce Yourself : By way of introduction… by Madonna McManus

Hi! Madonna McManus here. I am a screenwriter, currently located in Toronto, Canada. My film projects include DOCTOR SAX, a fantastical, apocalyptic coming of age tale, adapted from Jack Keroac's semi-autobiographical novel of the same title, BIROBIDJAN, a story of the harrowing journey of a group of Holocaust survivors across the Soviet Union en route to their new 'Soviet Homeland' in far eastern Siberia, and SABINA, a wrenching depiction of the remarkable life of pioneering psychoanalyst Sabina Spielrein. Television projects include satirical half-hour original series Female Parts, Welcome to Leslieville and The Stewell Pidgeons, and the original drama/political thriller series Allegra Rising, where conspiracy theories intersect with the arrival of the age of Aquarius. I am looking to connect with energetic and enthusiastic collaborators (producers, directors, managers, potential co-writers and actors) seeking to get some fabulous projects on the page then onward to the screen! I also work as a story editor and story consultant for writers and producers, and as a consultant for writers wrestling with the challenges of adapting novels for the screen.
