If you are in Tampa, FL on January 24 at 130pm, join us at Carrollwood Players Theatre, 4333 Gunn Hwy., for Life Amplified EMPOWERS charity spoken word and variety showcase. The third anniversary showcase is for EQUUSOLUTIONS who uses equine therapy to assist servicewomen dealing with PTSD and Military Sexual Trauma. The 100% volunteer Life Amplified EMPOWERS features six poets, including Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay Best Local Spoken Word Artist, R. Mona Leza, and five singers such as Topher Warren, who is performing in Spanish Lyric Theatre’s “Shrek” in May 2015. It also features a mind reader and two local comedians: Robin Savage and SomeGuyNamedFrank. Acoustic musicians Bernadett Celene Fritch and Dominick Schafer, beatboxer Andrew Dieppa, and the band Southern Yonkers round out the lineup. Tickets are $9 online and $11 at the door.
