I was looking to either start up or join a screenwriting group in the Southern California area. Just a small group of writers that can meet once a month or so and help each other out whenever possible.

Hi Paul, This is the place to do that! Usually meetups work better if there is a set plan in place, like Tuesdays we will meet here, etc. It's easier for people to commit and fit into their schedules than when it is left ambiguous.
Very true. I wanted to see how many people might be interested and then figure out a spot based of travel time for everyone. I'm willing to drive a bit but no everyone else is able too.
Just to clarify. I live in San Bernardino Ca, and I am willing drive into LA or surrounding areas if we can get a group going. My wife is due in less than a week for our second child so I can't really confirm any details besides that just yet. I work Monday - Friday but get off of our around 2 pm every day. So I could do early evening on any weekday and free most weekends,
