How do you know until you do it? Every action carries with it a capacity. Think on this: in the show SCORPION, they talk about a bunch of "six sigmas." It's a psychological term referring to iQs six standard deviations about average. In reality, it's a meaningless term, but it points to probability. An IQ six SDs above the mean (happens to also be the median and mode) occurs in less than..are you ready? 0.0000002 percent of the population. There aren't that many people on planet Earth to find one. Some psychologists, and when I run into them I become a professor...again...use the term "capacity." People are not storage plates--capacitors. You can do what you can do at that moment in time. Just a stupid FYI, they're really referring to people who think 'differently.' They do most of their learning and practice in their heads. We call them 2nd order gifted.. NOT GENIUSES. that expression makes me crazy. By the time a kid reaches 7th or 8th grade, the best predictor of success in school becomes parents' education and/or occupation. So, in the end, is the quote true? You'll never find out until you do whatever it is. It has little to do with "capacity" or "probability." Do it and you'll find out. I apologize for the psychology lesson.
