Introduce Yourself : Michael Arvelo. Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet you. by Michael Arvelo

Hello everybody. Last go around on the Introduce Yourself, I was completely getting my feet re-wet in the acting / theatre / writing / creative world after years of inactivity. Since that time , I believe anyway (time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana - Groucho) , that I've been both part unproductive and very productive in the "scene" around Raleigh, NC. While letting my various writings take a back seat, I've taken part in a community arts plan meeting for the city of Raleigh, NC where city officials were trying to formulate a plan for Raleigh's artistic identity over the next few years. I've applied for a theatre manager position with a local theatre that I don't necessarily expect to get but am honored to even be considered in the preliminary rounds of discussions. I have also been an occasional contributor / North Carolina representative for a wonderful theatre blog created by one of my college colleagues called OnStage (http://www.onstageblog.com ). You lose some, you win some but I can at least say I've spent some more time being activity in the creative community and as always I am happy to be a part of Stage 32 and speak with or see what all of the creative and artistic minds out there have going on.
