I don't see a lot of references or pages for agents

I have always searched for an agent for literature and it seems like there are fewer places to search for screenwriting agents. Does anyone have a place where they are able to seek out agents, and ever query them? I'm lost.

You might be better off looking for a manager, and there's no list for that. You'll have to do your own legwork. Follow script sales in the trades, which usually list agents or managers involved. You might also consider subscribing to a public tracking board which will list all scripts that go out (not just what sells) and lists managers involved. From this info you find the manager who seems to rep the kind of things you write, then track them down. IMDB Pro has addresses & info, and you can get a free 2 week trial. There are also email addresses out there, which also takes some legwork. You don't want just any manager (or agent) you want to target the ones that match your material. PS: There's a learning curve in screenwriting, as in anything else, so you may need to write a bunch of scripts before you're ready.

An agent would like to see you work first before representing you. If you have a good story, put it on stage 32 coverage. If it pleases the exec, I assure you. He/she will like to read more of your work for possible representation or even help you to sell your work.

DoneDealPro, Script Pipeline, and the Hollywood Screenwriting Directory all have listings for both agents and managers. They cost money. They also contain a ton of outdated information.

You can also sign up for a imdbpro account to have access to the names and addresses of the agents you want. Make sure you cancel your account before a trial period expires.

Thank you all so much. I will take a look at all of those.
