Lee Riley Mpse

Orlando-based Sound Designer and Studio Owner

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I have been involved in sound and music since a very early age and love what I do. I get to work with Directors, Producers, Actors and other like-minded Filmmakers. Look forward to hearing about your projects and hopefully get to work with some of you. Thanks.

Sounds good welcome I know that your more than needed will keep you in mind for upcoming projects.

Lee, you seem to have gottten into a good position. I'm wondering how you landed it (I'm sure you yourself had a lot to do with it!) and how do you RETAIN your clientele - apart from running a good brand.

Michael. Thank you for your question. My background was entirely music based but I started in Audio Post while I was teaching at a local college. I was approached by a fellow instructor who needed a score and some sound effects for his short film. Immediately I was hooked. Since then I slowly built up a clientele and retained them by giving them a great service and a soundtrack that had attention to detail that was more than their budget had allowed. I am sure that there are many people out there, including yourself, who have offered the same service but sometimes it just comes down to choosing the right project and being in the right situation at the right time.

Cool Lee. So you imply that luck has a lot to do with it. You're quite right about good service and giving more than is paid for. This is what I call a good brand. That is how I have survived my entire life WITHOUT any advertising or marketing. People returned through "word of mouth" referrals. On the down side, presently I have drifted into the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope for some good help from Providence. I am doing my share of the work, for I think that now marketing is needed for a changing environment. You wouldn't believe how technology has changed over the past 20 years!!
