Pixels isn't as bad as they're saying

Millenials likely won't get it but for children of the 80's like myself, its not citizen kane but it was hysterical fun.

I'm curious about your perspective Jason - I'm glad that you said something. I grew up on pacman and Qbert, etc. so I would think there would be some fun in the film, but it really is getting crushed. I don't know if I will go see it since the reviews are so bad.

J.C. De La Torre

Yeah, I know it is and I find it a little sad. Look, Adam Sandler pretty much mailed in his role. There's no denying that. But the story itself was funny and easy to follow. I thought Dinklage and Josh Gad carried the movie and seeing all of our favorite games as kids turned into evil alien weapons were funny. Then again, I love Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Weird Science so maybe I just like silly sci-fi/nerdy comedy.

Bill and Ted and weird Science are great! It's just such a shame Sandler has bastardized comedy :( I did hear that Qbert has a funny role in the movie... Was that true?

J.C. De La Torre

Julie, Yes, he was cute and funny. They should have introduced him a little earlier in the movie. Hey, I completely understand how a younger generation who didn't have an affinity for those old games could go see this movie and think it was trash. Sure, there was a lot of campy and trope stuff used. As I said in my original post, Citizen Kane or the Godfather this was not. It was meant to be a goofy, nerdy movie and focus on the zaniness of these "video game kings" who haven't amounted to much in life being the only ones with the unique set of skills to be able to save the Earth. If you go in with that expectation and not much more, i think you can have fun with it. Sadly, we've shown Bill and Ted to some of our younger fans and they didn't get it. Thought it was stupid. I weep for our youth. ;-)

I want to go to see it cause watching Pac Man go ghost hunting in New York.. well it just tickles me, but then again I can wait for it on Red Box.

Adam Sandler is now perfectly poised to do a Jello commercial or an ad for Jello Pudding Pops.
