I tried in Final Cut Pro X/ Compressor, doesn't seem to be an option. (I don't want everyone to see the subtitles.) What I want is a subtitle track for hard of hearing, and perhaps other subtitle tracks for foreign languages. For now, I want the hard of hearing track. I mention PAL because I hear NTSC has close captioning track, but I think our film is in PAL format. I'd also like to know how to add in close captioning if anyone knows, as we might just change it to NTSC if that's easier. If anyone knows any specialist companies that do it for you, or software, please let me know. Also, if we use a specialist company, what do we need to send them?
Can anyone in my network help Vasco?
You can do this with Apple DVD Studio Pro. That's the tool I still use to create dvd's.
I found some extra info about PAL/NTSC... The closed caption settings apply only to NTSC SD DVD projects. https://documentation.apple.com/en/dvdstudiopro/usermanual/index.html#ch...
Thanks everyone. Erwin, Unfortunately, Apple seems to have discontinued DVD studio pro. Do you ever add in subtitles for other companies? I notice you're more of a camera operator, so I'm assuming you just do close captioning for your own films? Robin, your blog link looks useful. I'll try that. Thank you.
Well indeed, I'm also a camera operator. But I do everything. From capturing to finishing. About adding subtitles, I've done this several times. But most of the time my clients don't need subtitles. But perhaps you can still find DVD Studio Pro on eBay.
