Hi All: It's been a long time, so I thought I'd reach out. I hope you all are progressing well with your projects. I started my own company last year, Sightline Media Entertainment LLC, which is a platform for my personal movie, music, book and commercial projects. My new kid's book, THE FURNACE ROOM will be out on November 5th on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Powell's Books, etc. (Readers 4-8 years-old). A nationally known literary specialist wrote the testimonial on the back cover. On the movie front, last summer I attached a great director and co-producer, Heather Hale, to my rock n' roll drama/romance, ONCE AGAIN (Key Art Attached). Some award winning writers gave us great feedback about the script and a number of high-level crew and successfully produced colleagues agreed to be part of the project, pending funding. We can do it at SAG Modified low budget, but are seeking $1M. As difficult as it is to execute a finished script and pitch package, it pales in comparison to securing funding and distribution. I have a number of film companies interested and reviewing the pitch package/script but soft prep can be a long slog. Right now, the money is the only barrier to jumping into preproduction. I'm like a junk yard dog trying to break free from my chain ;-). If you've gotten past this stage - CONGRATS! Congratulations on starting your own company and on all your projects, David. Perhaps post questions about raising funds in the Financing/Crowdfunding section. You may receive some great suggestions or possibilities there. I wish you the best with all your endeavors. :)
