Myself and fellow filmmaker Alrik Bursell created a podcast called "Making Movies is Hard” we thought you might be interested in http://www.makingmoviesishard.com The idea is simple: each week talk honestly about the struggle of pursuing a career in film and share our experience and knowledge about independent filmmaking. The struggle is real. Between us, our movies have played at over 30 film festivals, received 100,000 views on-line, and my film “The Spirit Machine” was the most-funded short of all time on Kickstarter. But despite our success, we’re still struggling to turn our hobby into a full-time profession. Then we read that 12,000 films were submitted to Sundance this year, but less than 200 screened, and it dawned on us: there are a lot of other filmmakers out there, just like us, going through the same thing! So we started a podcast to share our experience and provide a community for the struggling independent filmmaker. You can check out the podcast and learn more about us at http://www.makingmoviesishard.com or subscribe to us on iTunes, Stitcher, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Hey Timothy, this is Beth from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Filmmaking / Directing to Your Stage, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!
