"Virtual" is an ambitious independent film financed with crowdfunding that combines science fiction and video games, set in a dark future which pushes the virtual competitions and eSports over the edge. The film is based on the multi-award winning short film "Pixel Theory: Pandora's Box" by the same author, who with only three thousand euros budget surprised all at the festivals around the world. Best Science Fiction Short Film in Toronto, Best Foreign Language Short Film at the Orlando Film Festival, Gold Orchid for Best Visual Effects in Florida among other awards. The film focuses on virtual reality and the isolation caused by new technologies. A post - apocalyptic world where the beautiful game is a dangerous virtual life or death competition called the Extreme Hologames. A universe with references to "Matrix", "1984" and "The hunger games" with parallel stories in VR 360° format. The writer and director, Daniel H. Torrado has over ten years experience in audiovisual projects, and just received the Platinum Remi at the 49th Worldfest in Houston in addition to several other international awards. The project is supervised by Carlos Gil, assistant director who has worked on hundreds of films, from "The King Solomon mines" and "The Golden voyage of Sinbad" to the complete saga of "Indiana Jones" and "Green zone" The project has been awarded a special mention at the 48th Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival.
