Introduce Yourself : When you get to the Top Level of The Business, you get HUNGRY for MORE! by Sam Borowski

When you get to the Top Level of The Business, you get HUNGRY for MORE!

While I introduced myself three or so weeks ago, Stage32 seems to be encouraging us to do it this past weekend with "Introduce Yourself Weekend," so better late than never. ;) Below is my original "Introduce Yourself" post. And, for those that have already asked, I do offer rewrite and coverage service and teach a twice-monthly acting workshop in the New York-New Jersey area, as well as private coaching sessions. But, why don't you read about me and my career and see if those services are something your interested in. My main focus is still telling great stories, as I make great films! ;) As with a movie, I thought the Title of my introduction post was almost as important as its content. So, just WHAT does my title mean? Well, I've been VERY BLESSED and FORTUNATE to get to do what I LOVE for a living. I started as a writer, but probably enjoy the directing the most, although I still enjoy writing A LOT and have gotten significant work as a producer, which I also enjoy. And, be forewarned I am a creative producer - LOL - not a line producer or someone who finds talent, distributors or money and walks away. Once I am involved, I am hands-on , ALWAYS looking to make the BEST MOVIE I can make! I've been proud of what I've achieved thus far, which brings me right back to the Title of my introduction. I've been fortunate to work with 2 Academy-Award Winners as a director and producer in Ernest Borgnine and Benicio Del Toro, several Academy-Award Nominees, including Sally Kellerman, a Tony-Winner in Terrence Mann, a 2-time Emmy-Winner in Keith David and several legendary actors that include Paul Sorvino and the late Mickey Rooney. Other talented notable actors such as Natasha Lyonne, who I directed in the feature Night Club. In addition, I've written, directed and produced a short that qualified for the Oscars and have made significant strides in the distribution game. I've been mentored by some of the best including producer Samuel M. Sherman and 2-time Academy-Award-Winning producer Albert S. Ruddy, who produced two movies you just may have heard of: The Godfather and Million Dollar Baby. These men have taught me well. They've taught me how to close - when you have a money person interested, I come in and close. ;) I will say when you get to play with these types of professionals - at their level - it really is TRUE: You get HUNGRY for MORE! And, as a great producer once said, "Never say anymore than you have to ... if that." Moreover, as I always say, "Onward and Upward," God Bless and Stay Fresh, everyone! ;) ;)

Thank you for your post Sam. I am from Sydney, Australia and recently published an ebook, 1629 Mutiny on the Batavia. It was written specifically for a major film but the main impetus was Russell Crowe had optioned the rights to another version of the Batavia written in 1966. I've tried every possible way to contact RC including writing to his agent, his holiday address, the football club that he is associated with, his unofficial Facebook site and I even tried tweeting him. Do you have any advice in how to contact people such as RC? I know that I have something really special. Getting it 'out there' is something that I am not quite sure on how to go about it.
