Even though visual directing is the purest form of film there is, I can't help but gravitate to putting my efforts into dialogue and performance, even if I know there's PAGES of exposition (I try not to make it too pointless) that I can just delete. Why is this a problem?
What do you mean by "visual directing?"
Just letting the images do the talking. Concentrating more on shot composition and framing. Things like that.
You can have pretty composition and still make shitty movies but a great movie is the sum of all parts.
