Acting : Branding by Tony Fisher

Branding

Hello all, So every other day I get bombarded with emails talking about branding and how its vital to find your personal brand and that through doing that your increasing your chances of getting booked. So Ive spent some time reading the various articles about how to find your brand and as you can imagine theres contradictions everywhere. Some say you have to find your voice first and your brand will follow, others say you have to find your brand first. So my question is, do you find the brand first, the voice first or just let it happen naturally.

Dear Tony Fisher, As an Executive Producer (Director “owner” of several film companies), Director (Film, Television, and Theatre), Screenwriter, Author, Book Publisher, Playwright. It is my humble opinion, that you should be able to become the character you are depicting. That said; you would, therefore, know which genres’ and character roles you would excel in. If you are able to transport the viewer to the world of the character you are depicting, i.e. being “credible” (convincing), then you will know your unique voice and be able to establish your brand. More importantly, I would then be interested in seeing how I can make use of you! Best regards, Kevin Parsons

Hello Kevin, Thanks for your input, what you say has a great deal of truth to it and in many ways makes far more sense then the articles that talk of branding.
