Get on set experience in action T.V. shows and movies

Any help ? I've been dreaming about this for awhile I'm easy to get along with I love to help out especaily when anyone helps me out I would greatly appreciate it

Ian James Smith

I started last summer volunteering on sets doing whatever needed to be done, taking jobs from Production Assistant to boom and camera to extra and actor. So I suggest volunteering for any indie job so you can get to know the production crews and they can get to know you.

Darrell Powell

where can i find some places to volunteer at ?

JD Hartman

Are you looking for a production or an acting job? Acting, get registered with some agencies.

Darrell Powell

an acting job which agencies ?

JD Hartman

One doesn't volunteer for an acting role you still need to audition, however many low-budget short are no pay. I'm not in Cali, so I couldn't make any specific recommendations. Check out film schools and universities, student films are always looking for actors. Central Casting? How hard could this be?

Darrell Powell

i did most of those things besides audition

Darrell Powell

i went to a film school before i they ripped me off so

Christopher Pornovets

For me ( and this is my opinion ) , I would recommend building up your resume with indie work and then try and get an agent / sag . network with other people as that can be very helpfull in the future .

Teophiel Weston

Im with Christopher on this one you should really try to gradually build up you resume and accumulate credits with experience and then get an agent. Agents have access to jobs that you will never see on casting websites because they have exclusive rights. Work on building and creating a diverse Showreel that is versatile and shows a wide range that you are able to perform.

Ian James Smith

I agree with Christopher and Teophiel, i got my agent by doing indie work.

Paul Elliston

Do you have a reel?

Ian James Smith

Not yet, the films I have been in are not releasing clips until they are out of the festival circuit

Stephen Anthony Bailey

All of these answers are good. Get experience. There are so many online sites that you can submit for work through. You want to lay a solid foundation. And if you are looking to do something specific, such as action---create your own project suited to your talents. It doubles as a reel and as a project that you can use for your resume as you build up credits to try to get signed by an agency. Trust that the agents will come. They do. Even when it feels like it will never happen, it does. You have to do the work first. Pay your dues.
