They are only talking about studio projects which have been close to dead for a long time for people writing on speculation. There are other places you can find a home for lower to middle budget screenplays. Also Hollywood is not the only place where they make films. I had an offer on one of my specs last month and a investment group sent my agent a proposal to fund two of my projects.
