Post-Production : Advice on showreel by Luca Ribezzo

Advice on showreel

i'm wondering if anyone has good experience on editing showreels to make them more interesting instead of see the same boring scene one by one eheh thank you :)

Vasco Phillip de Sousa

When I look at actor showreels, I always wonder why they edit them. I can't tell anything if you cut it down to bits. Why not use the longest takes, to show what you can do? Or, send an entire short film, if you're in one, or a monologue? I mean, you're not an editor, so why show an editor's showreel?

this question is not giving me any advice but just your opinion ahahha anyway thanks

Walter Martyn Cabell

I agree with Vasco, keep it as simple as possible, showcase your talent and nobody else's. A flashy edit and graphics might be counterproductive.

Luca, all advice is an opinion. If you want a numerical definite answer to everything, play sudoku.

Casting directors these days care less about showreels and more about Instagram and Twitter followers. Just keep it short and your face in focus.
