Read RB's book, Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers and 7 habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. Network online AND in the real world. Build a stable of friends and people you trust to read your stuff who will be brutally honest with you.

Those are two great recommendations Landis Stokes. I loved RB's book and have a very worn and marked up copy of 7 Habits.
