Tomorrow morning at 5:30, I'm picking up a box of Peet's coffee and then being scoop up my two Co-Producers and our sound recordist and heading for Russian Hill here in San Francisco to shoot our protagonist and her boyfriend as they climb off a cable car and get into an argument. It's the fourth day and final day of shooting a short film called "Indulgence." What's it about? Here's the logline: "Rip is already a mentally unbalanced old man when a desperate damsel-in-distress tumbles into his quiet life. Again. After 35 years." I'm the Writer-Director and Executive Producer. On top of all that creative chaos, I just found a very talented screenwriter to collaborate on a feature called "Bakongo Cross." I completed it a year ago got it table-read three times, used all the notes I received, got it covered by two pros down in L.A. and fully expected to sell it in 2018. Finally concluded that It needs to be tightened up, the stakes need to be raised considerably and it needs a dazzling twist at the end. I start shooting another short on April 24th. And then another in October.
