Introduce Yourself : Sound Designer by Kevin Gamble

Kevin Gamble

Sound Designer

Hello everyone! I am happy to continue to be a part of Stage 32, and making great connections.

I am looking to collaborate on films no matter what genre here on Stage 32. I'm a sound designer that does all things in post audio, and sometimes called on to score music. If I were to choose a favorite genre, it would be horror/thriller films. I am a perfectionist about every sound I use, and never cut corners when marrying sound to film.

I really want to learn more about post-sound. That education was lacking when I went to school - they wanted to train us more for directing / producing. I fell in love with sound when my TV Production teacher in high school told us that good audio can make up for bad picture, but not the other way around. That same year we did a short where I replaced the current boom op (he was listening to music while booming!) and was good at it. It all seems like so long ago now, ha ha.

What got you into sound?

Kevin Gamble

Yes Brandon, even I discovered so many things after college that was never taught to me, which I thought was imperative to sound design.

Honestly, the movie Saving Private Ryan sparked my interest in sound, how it was created, etc.
