Hi everyone.
It's been a while since I've been here. Yesterday I went to an improv acting session for the first time and was reminded of how much I still have to do to become a more proficient writer...Which led me back here! (The improv acting was a great experience though. It started in an opera studio then ended in its usual haunt - the basement of an Irish pub. Because, of course.).
I'm a New York-based screenwriter that is still very early in my journey. I've written 2 produced short films, both directed by Jeremiah Kipp, and starring Lydia Darly (A Guadaloupean actress known for her roles in Exorcist: The Beginning & The Way You Love ).
But while I'm proud of the chutzpah it took me to jump into those projects, my aspirations are much bigger; Namely, to write a full length film in the next year or 2, and hopefully get it produced.

I've been busy working on my personal brand as a freelance marketing professional and also working for a brand as a Social Media/Marketing Specialist (Which, looking back on early film projects, would have helped immensely if I had these skills then), and so screenwriting has sort of fallen by the wayside. But it's more in an effort to not be a "Jacklyn of all trades, master of none". It's really important, and I've really come to understand the importance of not half-asking anything. It's the sort of quality I want to bring into every aspect of my life.
Once again, I hope to get back into screenwriting in the near future, but in the meantime i'm filling my mental palette with the likes of Amazon's The Expanse, Love Death & Robots, Netflix's The Punisher, Supernatural (S4), Blacklist (S1), NBC's Hannibal (Watching a second time), and more....
