Greetings from a chilly Midwest !

As I sit here writing this introduction, I'm watching the snow fall here in the Midwest. I guess Mother Nature is a mystery writer at heart. Stand by for the sequel on Thursday where the plot twist involves 70+ temps..........

Hi everyone, I'm Andrew Nelson. I'm a native NY'er and a retired member of the NYPD. I took up writing as a post-retirement challenge and discovered I enjoyed it. They always say that you should write what you know, so I did, taking the reader on a journey through the dangerous world, both physical and political, of the nation's largest police department. I have seven novels under my belt and I am currently working on the eighth.

As a cop, I prided myself on being able to help others, now as a writer I feel the same level of commitment. If you ever have a question pertaining to law enforcement, please don't hesitate to ask. Our goal should always be to give the reader or viewer the best experience possible.

You should write a procedural TV drama. They love those when cops write them.

I think the world might have gotten their fill with NYPD themed dramas for awhile. That being said, I do believe that my novels could easily be adapted to the big screen. At least that is what my readers are hoping for !!

Steven Bochco is back, so looks like the NYPD back on!

People love stories about emergency service workers. They love heroics and corruption. Go figure.

They also love procedural dramas, and the networks are always looking for them.

Well, I've pretty much had a front row seat to it all, so if any in the industry are reading this, I'm available !!
