Hi, Udulele John. This would be better placed on the Jobs board: https://www.stage32.com/find-jobs. That's where members post various "want ads" or searched for creative partners, paid or not paid. Best to you and good luck with your search and project. ;)

Thanks Beth, let do that!

Hey, Beth Fox Heisinger I was perusing the jobs boards and discovered, what is for me, an irritating trend. Many jobs are listed as "Paid," yet really aren't. Terms like, "you'll get paid when we get funded" "pay is 50/50 when the movie is produced" and so on, are no more than pleas for collaboration. Is there some way to separate out these types of offerings from actual paying jobs? Sorry to hijack your post, Udulele. :)

Just want to second John's comment. I stopped reading the job board years ago because it was entirely volunteer opportunities for movies people hoped they could one day make. Nobody had funding to even make the films.

There should be separate boards for actual paid jobs on funded films. Which is probably going to be empty. But you could have someone at Stage32 reaching out to actual PM's, PC's UPM's and AD's with invites to check it out and post when they need additional or last minute or 2nd unit crew. I know that the likelihood of that is practically zero as everything is union oriented and people go with crew they know but for those smaller shows and opportunities that sometimes post on staffmeup and mandy, they could come here where it's easier and free. but the point is they are real jobs.

That would be much easier to sort through. I pitched this idea to someone here a long time ago and they said they'd consider it. And yes, no offense John. Nothing wrong with posting an ad for collaborators. It would just be good if it's in a space that is meant for volunteers.

I agree with the above two comments. Even in New York City, the Jobs board is a desolate wasteland. The few posting are usually, deferred, no pay and usually from persons with no previous experience themselves.

Send in your concerns and suggestions to management through "Contact Us." They're always considering ways to better improve the site. Best to hear from those who utilize it. As far as promotion, casting calls, crew searches, etc, those posts are preferred to be placed on the board or in "Your Stage" and not in the Lounge craft and business forums which are for topic discussion.
