Hello all, I'm JKB Writer, Director, Producer and am in the middle of several projects trying to keep afloat! I've been hit up by a few investors and have decided to put together a solid business plan to finally grab the bull by the horns and make this movie I've been sitting on for 2 years now. So, as of now I have a small production company. I have shot a feature and numerous shorts and commercials so I am very familiar with all sides of the production. I wish to scale up my production company while making this film.
So, I was thinking at 2 million to make the film with No 3D elements! This is big for me as I am well versed in 3D elements and attempting not to relay on them on this film. I have already shot 20% of this film! I guess, my main questions are as follows: How does a primary production company bring on other production companies for say A-list talent and or marketing and distribution? It is common to see 3 to 4 production companies on most Hollywood films. Can other production companies handle distribution and theatrical releases or will I still be required to go though a distributor which I have heard nightmare stories about?
I'm in a position where I can make this film at different price points. For instance: I am a VFX guy and can shoot the whole film in green screen and color grade it and edit it if I have to use experienced local actors with a low budget. Or, I can go the 2 million route I'm talking about and bring in some investors and we can bring in a full crew and shoot this in 2 weeks the right way, then take months to edit then go the film festival route at the higher budget or I can go full 30 million budget get with a couple Hollywood production companies and lets go big with this! If I go for that route, then how to communicate with other large production companies? It's not like I am trying to sell my script. I have numerous other scripts that I am trying to pitch to large production companies for my large budget productions. I'm trying to bring on partners on this one. How do I get with agents that can get well known talent for my two main roles?

Ok, I now have a solid film business plan. After much searching an learning, I now know about it all now. Bringing on other producers as we speak and putting together the production team for the shoot. I landed on a 1 million budget. Now working up a massive social network after I shoot a teaser reel for the movie. I've grabbed the bull by the horns and will make this happen. Thanks to anyone who read my initial post.
