Anything Goes : Are Southern based productions still "in style?" by Jacob Taylor

Jacob Taylor

Are Southern based productions still "in style?"

As an aspiring screenwriter who has grown up in Georgia, has the Southern Gothic or the Southern crime story gone out of fashion, or is there still a market for these types of productions?

Doug Nelson

There always is a market for truly compelling stories presented in a tightly written script in an industry recognized format no matter what genre. The real question is the size of the market in relationship to the cost of production.

Kay Luke

I've thought about this before, and my hesitation comes from Carl Hiaasen.

The man has sold millions of Southern (Florida, mostly) Crime Novels but the only one of his novels to become a movie is the atypical Strip Tease.
