Turning your screenplay into an episodic, dramatized audio broadcast

Here’s a link to what my screenplay opening sounds like in a dramatized audio mpg. This is Wearing of the Green ep 1. What do you think about using this method to fix/enhance your written script before marketing it?

this is actually a great way for you to build an audience for the script itself and pre-start your marketing efforts. how do you plan on unfolding this idea?

Hi Tasneem! Well, I would like to produce more dramatized audio scripts for others who like the idea. This one was difficult as it involved all Irish accents....

There are some things I would change..ie it sounds better playing at 1.25 speed for the narrator etc.

I’m posting Wearing of the Green as an episodic podcast (link above) and then creating a YouTube version, an illustrated ebook, radio plays etc :)

I believe it’s a good way to see if your dialogue/descriptions etc work before submitting a final draft script to competition, studios etc, and also having a full media-suite of the story available. It’s even good to produce just one scene in audio to see if emotional tones are being hit...

This audio drama is a test for me to see the public response to the story, so that I can decide to film it or not and use the stats to help find financing.

I think the idea is brilliant, if you can link them back to a central website it could help with the audience building and getting professionals to pay attention to your work. Your plan looks quite solid, then maybe send some messages to people to see if they can provide feedback.
