Like the Lone Ranger, but instead of riding a horse named Silver, our hero drives a navy blue Freightliner nicknamed The Blue Knight. Ex homicide investigator Hunter Rayne is still haunted by the suicide of his fellow cop and best friend, and finds the solitude of life on the road therapeutic. Although our hero is straight as an arrow, his "sidekick" is a big blonde biker with poor impulse control from Yreka, California. His boss is a single white female who other drivers sometimes call Big Mother Trucker. In spite of her toughness, she dotes on a small black dog named Peterbilt and reads Harlequin romances in secret.

I write a series of mystery novels, each named after a highway in western North America. Trucker Hunter Rayne is drawn into investigations up and down the west coast, sometimes butting heads with local law enforcement, sometimes working with cops who respected his investigative skills in the past. Several readers have suggested the concept would make a great TV series. I have no aspirations to be a screenwriter, and would leave that to you professionals, but my books are written in scenes and would probably be easy to adapt.
