Hello one and all. While this project I'm working on isn't for a film, the world premier will be recorded for, and broadcast on the internet. As the composer, orchestrator, sound designer, and conductor, I announce to you:
A Heavy Metal Requiem Mass.
This is going to be roughly 60 to 90 minutes in length, full of some rather thick pieces which are 34 in total at last count. It includes: six soloists, a 100 person SATB choir with occasional polyphony, a four piece Metal band, a 100+ piece orchestra, and click tracks to save space on certain instruments which an orchestra normally doesn't have.
By the way, the choir and soloists will be virtual. Did I forget to mention that? Yes, I did! Nevertheless, please stay tuned and I'll provide updates as they happen.
That's impressive, George DeLorean! Actually, I'd love to know how this idea came about! Would you start a post in the Composing Lounge about what sparked the idea? Would love to start a conversation about the inspiration! https://www.stage32.com/lounge/composing
Done! Check the lounge for the new post.
