Acting : What are you doing to stay productive? by Eddie Durante Jr

Eddie Durante Jr

What are you doing to stay productive?

I am learning that, as an actor, we always need to be working on our craft. Over the past year, I have learned that if you want to be successful, you need to consistently be refining and practicing the various aspects of this beautiful art form. I plan on doing just that this year and I wanted to share some of my goals this year with you all. This year, I will learn a new skill, I will take some singing classes (mostly because I want to work on my confidence), and I want to work on three feature films. I know the last one is a relatively low number; however, it is the year that I am diving into this job as a full-time career and will be doing a lot of extra work, more than likely, until I can get the skills and experience to get the larger roles.

What are y'all's goals this year, and what are you doing to refine your craft?

Jameson Martel

Badass man! I think 3 feature films is a great number to shoot for! I'd like to join a dance studio myself. To refine my craft I decided to learn Korean. I can read it now and speak a basic introduction now. It's a business decision I made to promote exposure. Good luck to you, I'm rooting for ya!

That’s awesome, man! That is a good business decision, it definitely makes it easier to expand and get new roles.

Karen "Kay" Ross

Great question, Eddie! And great response Jameson Martel!

I have daily vocal exercises (I'll let you know when I do them daily, though LOL), and I tend to like doing them after I write, since I've been sitting in silence for a bit. Exercise is important, but I'd like to start doing videos with routines so I can remember to do movement for the camera. Knowing where the camera is in relationship to what you're doing is super important, and I definitely need that reminder! If I'm going to put a number to it, my goal would be to secure 5 voice over gigs. And I'm practicing my Spanish this year so I can inch closer to being bilingual!
