Screenwriter looking to connect with others

Hey, y'all! Aspiring screenwriter here, a few scripts under my belt, looking to connect with others who are getting started in this industry. I love genre television, sci-fi and high-concept features, and mysteries. I have a couple of pilot scripts done (one horror, one sci-fi), am working on a third, and have one feature script completed (near-future action). I also wrote a spec script of a Supernatural/Letterkenny crossover, because why not (horror-comedy genre is a personal fave).

Hey, Les Weiler! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. Nice to meet you! Oh, hey, I'm Houston right now (born in Austin), but I live in LA. What would you say your top three SciFi films/series are?

Have you tried pitching your scripts on your road to finding representation? Definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who is excellent at matching projects with potential executives (or managers, in your case): J.Mirch@stage32.com

I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but I'd love for you to check out the Acting Lounge as well! https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time. Cheers!

Hi, Kay! On the timey-wimey end of the spectrum, I love Fifth Element. One of the first times in the theater where I felt I'd gotten exactly what I wanted out of a big, silly movie. On the other side, there's Primer (though Upstream Color... wow) for doing a wonderful job of feeling sci-fi yet real, without over-explaining the fictional tech.

Recently saw Dave Made a Maze and was really pleased with it.

I've not yet tried pitching my scripts, but am on email lists for the meetings Jason shares. Will dive into that soon.
