Let me re-introduce myself

Hi everybody - especially new members! I’m Lisa and I’m primarily and actress — NYFA NYC graduate 2017, now back in Vienna, Austria — but also am currently rewriting and polishing up my first TV pilot that I finished a few years back (trailer is on my profile under “links” if anyone is interested).

When I’m not writing, I’m in my day job which currently takes up most of time, so I only have the weekends really — I guess, I just haven’t had the guts to take the risk of quitting and dedicating myself to the arts full time.

I know, one of RB’s (Stage 32’s fearless and awesome leader ;) ) mantras is that you get out what you put in, but for some reason I keep holding myself back whenever I try to take a step forward — I guess, I’m just too afraid to try because I think I might fail — but maybe it’s just a creative low during which my brain still spits out scenes but I can’t really seem to bother to incorporate them into existing ones — anyway, I’ll wrap up before this turns into a self help session for artists anonymous =))

Say hi, if you have a minute, so we can chat (if you have a little longer) — nice to e-meet you all!!

Hello and welcome Lisa

Takaya Abdou Lloyd

Hey Lisa, sounds like you're doing some awesome stuff and would love to hear more about your script, I'll check out the trailer. I'm new to using the platform as well but have been around it for the last few years, welcome!

Hi Lisa, here's some tough love :)

Only those who REALLY want it will find a way to get it done. It's great that you have a job and not a full-time starving artist LOL. Trust me, you don't want to be the latter. Job aside, cut out everything else you do (apart from exercise of course), and spend your time writing.

Alternatively, wake up at 4, exercise and breakfast till 5/5.30. Write for 3 hours. Everyday. No days off.

Those are every artist's only two options to produce good work!

Wish you all the best.

Blessings & love.

Hi, guys — thanks for the welcomes!

I’ve actually been around since 2016 :) I just haven’t really been very active in the lounge, I’m mostly just buying the webinars which I love!!

Thanks for the tough love, Mo :) I’ve been through times like this before, but always bounced back from them. Sometimes it just seems like it’s more daydreaming and very often I realized that I just have to accept the fact that it might never happen and I think I’ve learned to live with that. Which doesn’t mean that I’ll stop trying, though. On a different note, I’m glad I have my day job, too :)

Takaya — make sure, you let me know what you think. My pilot is a kind of Hawaii Five-0 meets White Collar cop show. For the longest time, I’ve been planning to put the latest draft on my profile — I hope I’ll be able to do that tomorrow, I’ll let you know, though. I need all the feedback I can get anyways :)

Thanks again, and happy creating!

Hi Lisa, pleased to meet you.

I don't know if my post was recorded I don't see it so here goes again: I see a number of Arabic names: Ahlan wa Sahlan! I lived in Egypt for two years and graduated from the American University in Cairo. I loved living in Egypt.
