I've not heard of Film Hub, but I just looked it up. Is it compatible with the Vimeo rentals as well? Wasn't there another online distributor that went under that was like Film Hub?
I'I'm really not sure? but my short is now available through Plex, Zuzu, and Vimeo, and Filmocracy look like they are about to distribute.
You have to do the marketing yourself, which is tricky for a short. But hell they take shorts! I’m preparing another, older short for distribution at the moment, needed a re-cut based on viewing feedback and being an older project it needs some re-spec-ing, so had to start from scratch. Just waiting on audio at the moment and then I’ll upload.
Seems like a good option to me rather than them just sitting on a hard drive gathering Cyber dust.
FilmHub is actually a great way to self DIY and they are very picking on how you submit your stuff but at the end you do be able to make some $ back. Just pay extra attention to their required stuff. Alan who runs FilmHub is always on Clubhouse that you can connect with as well.
If you have a short film, their recommendation is something over 20mins long, to be able to get more $ in.

Hoping Film hub can open up a market for short form projects that don't fit a "feature" length, that would be really useful.
They do have short forms. They just suggest your short films be over 20mins and that is still short form. Feature lengthy in distribution POV is over 60mins.
