I once wrote a script for a producer who promised to pay me, but several months after the film got out, I got nothing. And having no money, i couldn't sue or voice out. So please if there's any way anyone from this Producer's lounge can help me, i'd be glad. I have not one or two but three spec-scripts to pitch, including a TV-Pilot.

In your contract with the producer, what is the pay out directive? Is it a percentage, or a buy out, or points based on sales? If it's points - is it paid out after all costs are recouped? It may just be a delay due to accounting waiting for sales totals.

It was supposed to be points based on sales, and it's been four months since it went out of screening from the cinema. Cherelynn Baker

Damilola Joshua - You should confirm when residuals are paid based on your contract. I had to track residuals once, and depending on the company, it could be quarterly, twice a year, or annually. Also, most lawyers will take a first-time consultation for free so they can earn your business. It might be worth it to have a phone call before determining you wish to sue.
Karen "Kay" Ross Thanks a lot. I posted it to seek more knowledge about the situation, and i got it. Thanks a lot.
Kyle LIttle Are you depressed, and trying to vent out? It's not healthy. Get help.
