Hello Stage32 Community!
My name is Indy. I am a director and I live in West Hollywood, CA. I enjoy thriller, crime, sci-fi and dramas.
I hope to collaborate as a director with anyone who has a short film written and has a realistic budget level in mind when it comes to production.
*Ideally one or two locations, 2 or three cast members at max and little to zero Vfx work. Think Netflix’s British show criminal.
I am a sucker for interrogation scenes, interesting power plays, and in depth dynamic shifts.
I also like to workshop these genres. So if no budget , and you want see how someone can translate your script. I would be down for that. I like to workshop scripts with actors to build skills and communication within a small team —up to five pages.
Anything to keep moving forward, our skills sharp, and out of our self sabotage.
I can’t wait to meet more friends and learn. I look forward to hearing back from you all and see what we can do together.
Best,
Indy

Great to meet you, Indy Gott, and welcome to the community! Wow, what a great perspective - I really love "keep out of our self-sabotage". Such a great idea! Lots of members do script exchanges for peer review here - you can offer your services for notes in the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting). Lots of people also host table reads and reach out through the Acting Lounge to gain interest from talent (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting).
Definitely check out the Filmmaking Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing) to meet like-minded creatives as well! Maybe you could start a conversation about why you've chosen the parameters above? 5 pages, limited locations, and characters, what constitutes a "realistic" budget - I think it could be a great subject to unpack with other directors!
Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my blog post on how to get the most out of the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect!
