If YOU could have any special effects feature from any movie or TV show WHICH ONE would it be and WHAT would you do with it?( for example, saving someone, stealing something to help a person, and so on) Let me go first so I dip my toes in the water for you...
I would want Lucifer's wings ( they are so epic), and I would save drunk drivers from killing anybody....
Side note to self: This might be a 24/7 job, hahaha!
Now, it's your turn :-)
Note: I asked this question in this lounge since special effects have to do with Post-Production. Don't rip my head off, hahaha, I couldn't find the "Anything Goes" lounge anymore.
Thanks in advance for having fun with this. I hope it breaks your writer's block, or eases the tension of a hard work day.
Best wishes,
Lucie

The glowing globes from GROOT on Guardians of the Galaxy? I think that'd be a pretty cool feature - just PWANG! Instant atmosphere :-D

Lucie Mayer-Wegelin this could definitely open up the imagination! Great prompt!
I think I would choose the classic EMP device (Electro-Magnetic Pulse "bomb") that has been used in countless thrillers and sci-fi stories,
with a maximum range of about twenty-five miles, it simply disables every electronic device semi-permanently ...
this is just fictional fantasy / thought experiment, I realize it has other consequences but we're being selective, so I would dump those in each major city around the world and
let the after-effects compel people to relinquish all of their electronics and spend a month or two just living back in the 16th-century-type era,
and yet the smaller cities and towns would still have functional electronics and small isolated grids, set-up for an ironic sitcom scenario ...
so the urban dwellers would perhaps migrate and want to glom onto the rural / small-town resources,
a sudden reversal that might put big-city / blue-state folks into a position of dependency or diplomacy on the level where they would have to really negotiate a way in to those other tribes or adopt various other modes of coping with the new / old reality.
Wow, what wonderful insight into your imagination, Daniel Stuelpnagel . I appreciate your descriptive comment. I agree, I think it would do some people good to learn other coping mechanisms besides staring at their phones. I remember when I was at College and my phone froze. I panicked; the world collapsed for me as my phone is part of " What makes me ME" (my contacts, message threads, Safari, Siri, photos, videos). My best friend was able to reset my device but I was shocked how much I let my phone rule my life so I think experiencing how relieving it can be to not have some electrical devices. It can be beneficial for people's mental health. It would also reduce some car/pedestrian accidents. Maybe, people would then start to speak more with each other in person without their phones as a barrier. That is something I really miss.

I would love to have Storm's abilities. The power to change the weather? I'd be the king of filming in the best conditions for your movie. Wanted to shoot a scene in the rain? I got you. Need a nice sunset on a cloudy day? Look no further. Oh, we're you hoping it was gonna be nice and thundery for this spooky shot? BAM.
Sam Chambliss, I could definitely need a cinematographer like that: someone who's got my back, and can entertain the stream of my imagination, hahaha * a serious look falls upon her face*... Weather changing abilities would be wicked, I agree!
I'm not sure this is in a movie, because I don't watch a lot of action/sci-fi, but I have this dream sometimes to control objects people are holding by reaching out my hand, and tightening the muscles in my arm, and seem to for example knock a cup out of someones hands. It seemed fun in my dreams, so that is what I would want haha! I would certainly use it for good reasons too, but that is my 2 cents.

Kevin Gamble , very cool! That would be a useful skill for playing a prank on someone, too.
