Hi all,
I'm a tech founder and working on movie tech (11+ years working on AI tech). I am interested to learn about your challenges/problems in presenting your ideas or visualizing what you have in mind/script. What are the most time-consuming parts of your process? How big is this problem? what does block/slow-down your creativity?
Thanks

I am not sure what you are asking, because the subject line and your stated question imply different ideas. If you are considering a proof-of-concept film, simply don't do it unless you have the actual director, actual cast, actual DP, actual production design, etc. - otherwise it is not the same film you want to create. It's a different presentation entirely and looks and feels totally different than what might be created and no one can unsee it. So don't do it. Your synopsis and treatment are all that is necessary, and all you should be doing if you are selling the project or trying to raise the funds through any established producer or distributor. Pitch decks, etc. like to contain graphics, cast wish-list images, and comparable films, etc. and if you have actual working designs like you may have for a unique creature feature, images of those things.
sorry for the confusion. I'm trying to understand what problems/challenges movie editors have for pitching or editing movies. I'm asking this because I'm a tech developer and want to build tools that can help movie editors/directors have an easier job. Removing time-consuming parts of their process so that they can be more creative. Hope now it's more clear what I'm looking for.

I did Avid dailies, also learned DaVinci coloring, Inferno, Henry Flame, Aftereffects, blender, DRS cleaning - whole bunch of software to make our jobs easier and faster, and the biggest challenge is Time, or lack of Time to do the job. Software cannot speed up creativity. Some material simply need to sit for weeks/months before you (artists/editors/filmmakers) figure it out. Unfortunately, corporate bean counters are looking at financial numbers and force ppl to rush- do as much physically and mentally, and move on to the next job.
So basically, it is not new technology, it's the ppl in charge crunching numbers.
Dan MaxXx, when you create the video or do editing, what is the guideline? do you have an idea of story? or do you have a script for the video? Then you edit pieces and put them together to visualize the story?

It's the problem...my late stage director used to say "you don't live with the problem" when addressing prosaic and banal people....that's the essence of creating, AI don't live with the problem, they only solve it....

Royal Octave I was a dailies technician at a postproduction facility. I get a daily work order and I do the job I am assigned to do, nothing more or less. As for final editing, that responsibility is for the main editor (usually the highest paid salary) sitting with the client (filmmaker/producers/exec).
I would suggest you make a visit to a legit post-production facility. It's clear you dont know the work flow finishing movies. Basically, post production is factory work, like a car assembly. Everyone is assigned a specific job and thats all you do for 8-10 hr shifts, 5-6 days a week.
