Hello Everyone! I have a question or two about getting a tv series shot. What are the complications of it? About how much money am I looking at to shoot? (4 seasons, 10 episodes each. 4th season has 15 episodes) (i know there's no way to know for sure, estimated budget is okay). How much harder is it to shoot a series compared to a feature film? Any advice would be very much appreciated!

You should attend my Navigating Production seminars in January, it's FREE through Women In Entertainment. In the six part series I go through all phases of production from development through distribution, and focus on the production management issues you are asking about here. If interested, contact me direct and I can send you a link.

Maybe the question is, "how much more fun"? Things to look at: if you are not sure of the budget, remember "aim small, miss small" - so keeping locations limited, reducing special fx, using original/non copyrighted music to keep royalty cost to nil, and adding product sponsorships to help with budget. Possibly the best question to ask is "what is the best format for the story" because some stories are best for film and one 2 hour sitting, and others need short bursts of story line. Good luck and have fun!
Cherelynn Baker thank you so much!
Shay Meche Here is the link to the first one (of 6). You can register there and see the others as well. The 6-part series gives you a comprehensive overview of the important processes and pitfalls which you should be aware of from day one.
