We've hit the mid-way point of the week and I was scrolling through the 1000's of books on my Kindle to remind myself about what I've read over the past few years. I found some gems I'm definitely going to read again.
Anyways, I saw that a few years back I had read a book called "The Artist's Way". Anyone else read it?
I'm not going to go on about the book, but there was a section in there about "treating yourself to an artist date". We are all trying to be as creative as possible all the time but do we ever just take that brief moment to stop and refuel ourselves by taking the time to experience new ideas and get inspired?
Does anyone do this?
Some ideas:
* Watch a great movie.
* Read a great book somewhere you wouldn't normally read a book, like in a park, or at a sidewalk cafe, in nature.
* Go to a museum
* Go to the theatre
* Take a class/listen to a lecture/talk
* Walk around an art gallery
* Listen to some new music/or go watch some live music
That's what I'm going to do this week, I'm just going to set aside some "me time" and refill those creative juices.
How about you? Do you do this? If so, what's your go to? If not, is this something you'd do?
Here's to brilliant rest of the week everyone.

Definitely something I do, and something I missed during the lockdowns. For me it is people. I try to go out a few times a week, to a gallery opening, a bar or whatever, and talk to people, both those I know and those I don't know.

Running in the mornings always refuels me on necessary creative juice :)

Mark Palmer do you know what Mark, I'm taking inspiration from you, and I'm going to do exactly that! I'm going to go out for lunch tomorrow, then a museum next week! It's vital for us to balance work/life. If, like me, many of you write full time at home, it doesn't ever feel like work as such, but I always start my day with a morning walk along Southampton Water and look at what's left of that famous skyline from 'Titanic' before Rose embarks. It's also important to still do things like go out. Shortly, I shall be going (weather permitting) to several local woodland walks for inspiration for my Middle Grade fantasy novel series. It's great for mental wellness as well as physical!

Absolutely Christiane Lange - we don’t realise what we have until it’s taken away from us.

Brilliant stuff Phil Bridge -,glad I could inspire :). It’s all about balance. Plugging our brains into something we don’t do regularly is exactly what it needs.
