Hey Everyone! My name is Dan, and I am in the Bellevue, WA area. I’ve been writing for fun my whole life, but only recently committed to trying to make a life out of it. I’m incredibly eager, and brimming with ideas…but I truly have no idea how anyone makes it as a writer. I’m hoping to meet folks who are either more experienced or knowledgeable about how to land representation/management, as well as actually getting your work made.

Maurice Vaughan Thanks for the tip! Any specifics you’d recommend?
Daniel Stuelpnagel I’m all over the place, as far as genre. It’s kind of why I have a hundred half-done ideas and handful of completions. But I tend to lean in to comedy. Part of the reason I envision myself more as a staff writer, is that I’m very comfortable with pacing a placing my punchlines. I don’t know why, just always felt natural.

Welcome! The biggest piece of advice is never give up. You only need one agent to believe in you. It can take a while but you will get there! best of luck and much success!

Dan Baron cheers that's what's up!
Following our best instincts, I was intimidated by the ideas of writing comedy or sci-fi and of course during quarantine took up both with magnanimous enthusiasm.

Check out “Write Your Screenplay” podcast by Jacob Kruger, and “Screenwriters need to hear this” podcast by Michael Jamin. Fantastic resources to teach you HOW to write. When you’ve done the work and have a good script (or two or three, it’s best to have a library), then you start submitting it to screenplay comps via coverfly to get some eyes on it
