Introduce Yourself : New to Stage 32! by Hannes Kivilaht

Someone once branded my stories as ‘father figures in their various embodiments’, ranging from light-hearted to dramatic to dark comedy. I think they were right. To date I’ve written and produced two stage plays as well as two short and five feature length screenplays which have won and placed in respected writing competitions and garnered interest from a sprinkling of producers, as well as starting a limited series pilot based on a script of mine which I realized has too much story to fit into a feature - all pretty much in that brand.

I also recently transitioned from English and Creative Writing teacher to full time screenwriter, meaning loads more time for not only writing but networking, pitching, collaborating with people in the industry, and reading these inspiring posts from creatives all around the world. As for me, I divide my time between Montreal, Toronto, and Winnipeg, Canada. Cheers to you all!
