A Train Crosses the Stage32

Hello everyone.

I'm Rahul, a writer/filmmaker and journalist from Karachi, Pakistan. I think I joined Stage32 a long time ago but this is my first post here.

I wrote, directed and co-produced a Sindhi-language short in 2020 and we have taken it around several countries - 10 festivals in 7 countries + nearly a dozen screenings across Pakistan - and finally we released it online last month.

It's an outcome of may long days and months by the entire team.

Do check it out. Thanks.

I have recently watched this play out in real life. My mother needed to take care of my dying grandmother, and many of the events in this film are similar. Instead of a new song, my mother sewed a baby towel for my nephew. I am amazed how much my mother has in common with a story made halfway around the world from me. You have made a touching short film, and I hope to see more from you in the future.

Thank you, Logan. I firstly made this film only for myself, as a sort of therapy to release the grief I felt after losing my cousin to cancer in 2018. Only after I showed it around did I realize how pretty much everyone connected to it on some level as most people have lost someone close in their lives. I'm sorry to hear of your grandma but I think they all live on through these small acts of love, be it a poem, song or a baby towel. :)
