Screen writing/Synopsis/log line/

Hello, New here. I wanted to ask the community about the steps on getting my synopsis to the next level. Definitely looking for a screen writer if anyone is Available for hire. It’s an action film in a post apocalyptic world. If anyone is interested please let me know. And if you have any advice for someone just getting their feet wet in this writing world please reach out.

Kiril Maksimoski

Welcome to the community, Hayward Riley. Since you're new to screenwriting, check out the Screenwriting lounge: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting You might also want to add a bio on your page. It'll help you network. If you don't have much for a bio, you can write what you plan to do and the type of stories you write. Let me know if you need any screenwriting advice.

John Ellis

My advice: write it yourself.

Jon Shallit

Asked you to add me. I do this all the time.

Eunhye Necee

If you haven't already, you could also try posting this as a job. You'd get a bit more traction.

Doug Nelson

Dan - you're a cheap date.

Phillip E. Hardy, "The Pro From Dover"

I agree with John Ellis. Buy a couple of books and learn the craft. I recommend the Hollywood Standard by Christopher Riley and the Screenwriters Bible by David Trottier. Next buy yourself some good screenwriting software and learn the basic functions and away you go. Otherwise you're just paying someone to realize you're dream.

Maurice Vaughan

Hayward wrote the synopsis, John. He just needs someone to help him get it to the next level.

John Ellis

And Phil suggested the most appropriate help, Maurice.

Because the bottom line is, any legit producer is going to look at the writer (gets back to my mantra: relationships). Is the writer someone the producer can work with? Is the writer willing to do the work?

Paying someone to write the script for you in the hopes you make a spec sale is playing long, long, long odds. You'll get better odds in Vegas.

Hayward Riley

Hum… I appreciate the feed back. I’d be willing to collaborate with someone on this project for partial riders/editors credit. I see people post their synopsis loglines ect. on here to get feedback from the community. If it’s safe maybe I should start there. I usually do NDA’s and all that before letting anyone read it. But I would love to get feedback on the whole thing before moving on to my next step. Thank you.

Hayward Riley

I have began to write the script and thank you for the book recommendations. I will look into them.
