After thinking about screenwriting for decades and taking many classes, I finally did the thing most people don't: got started! (Those of you here are probably the exception, but one very famous screenwriter told our class of hundreds we'd be lucky if even one of us ever finished a screenplay!)
So I hired a screenwriting coach to help me with a fabulous true story, and I saved a lot of time with his guidance. I kept wondering if it would be best to live in LA, and he said not necessarily, but it would help.
Thankfully, when my employer needed someone to move to the firm's Los Angeles office, I quickly raised my hand. We are living in the Long Beach area, and I'm wondering if there are any in-person screenwriter groups that I can join here.
